Workshop on Safeguarding and Responsible Governance in Educational Institutions

A workshop titled “Safeguarding and Responsible Governance in Educational Institutions” was held on May 26, 2026, at the SJIPS Auditorium for the staff of St. Joseph's Indian Institutions. The program aimed to raise staff awareness of child protection, safeguarding practices, ethical responsibilities, and effective governance in educational institutions. The workshop was led by Rev. Fr. Harry Terry SJ and Ms. Sangeetha Thomas, both Assistant Professors at St. Joseph’s College of Law. Through engaging presentations and interactive discussions, they emphasized the importance of fostering a safe, respectful, and accountable environment for students and staff, while highlighting key legal and ethical aspects of safeguarding. Fr. Joseph D’Souza, SJ, Rector of St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions, presided over the program and encouraged participants to uphold the highest standards of care, responsibility, and integrity in their educational mission.
