The 80th Independence Day Celebration was commemorated with great enthusiasm, patriotic and a strong spirit of unity and togetherness. On 15 August 2026, the Common Independence Day Celebration of the St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions was held at the Football Ground. The celebration was graced by Lt. Cdr. Anil Prem D’Souza, Founder & Managing Partner, Fairwinds Capital, Ex-Indian Navy Officer and Alumnus of SJ IHS, as the Chief Guest. The programme was presided over by Rev. Fr. Joseph D’Souza SJ, Rector, St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions, along with the Heads of the various units. The programme included flag hoisting, prayer, choir, band and march past, followed by a vibrant array of cultural presentations such as dance, songs, mime and skits by the different units. SJIPS presented a colourful fancy-dress programme form students of Classes 1 to 7, adding vibrancy and joy to the celebration. The celebrations beautifully reflected the unity, patriotic spirit and collaborative efforts of the entire St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions family.
